Thisperiodlaysemphasisonextensivereadingandwriting.Atfirsttheteacherwillcheckthestudents’homework,byaskingsomeindividualstudentstoreadouttheirsummariesofthereadingpassage“PuzzlesinGeography”.Thentheteacherwillaskthestudentssomedetailedquestionsbasedonthereadingpassage.Thisstephastwogoals.Oneistohelpthestudentstoconsolidatewhattheyhavelearntduringthelastperiod.Theothergoalistoleadthetopicto“SightseeinginLondon”.

InthenextstepthestudentsareaskedtoreadthepassagefastandwritedowntheplacesthatZhangPingyuvisited.Afterreadingthepassageagain,thestudentswillwritedownthecommentsontheseplaces.Thiswillbedonebyfillinginachart.Sinceitisanextensivereadingpassage,thereisnoneedtounderstanditindetail.Butthestudentsshouldpayspecialattentiontohowthewriterdescribedtheseplaces,becausetheywillundertakeasimilartasknext.
