1.SCOPE
Thisspecificationcoverstheminimumtechnicalrequirementsforthedesign,manufacture,andtestingofsynchronousalternatingcurrentgeneratorsuitableforinstallationonlivingquartersofYUEDONGislandB,thePeople’sRepublicofChina..AnyexceptiontotherequirementsofthisspecificationshallbesubmittedinwritingforresolutionbyPurchaser.

4.REQUIREMENTS
4.1.ItemDefinition
Thesynchronousalternatingcurrent(AC)generatorrequiredisoftheindustrialtype,andsuitableformountingaspartofaskidpackage.
4.2.Characteristics
4.2.1.Performance

Thegeneratorshallhavetheminimumbaseloadratingspecifiedonthedatasheet.Compliancewiththedatasheetrequirementsshallrequirethatthepoweractuallymeasuredatthegeneratoroutputterminalsundersiteratingconditionsbeequaltoorgreaterthantheloadratingspecifiedonthedatasheet.
Continuousservice
Thegeneratorshallprovideaminimumof24monthsofcontinuousoperationbetweenmajoroverhauls.Operationshallbeatthebaseloadratingunderoffshoresiteconditions.
Paralleloperation
Thegeneratorshallbesuitableforparalleloperationunderloadconditionsuptotheratedload,atvoltageof95%to105%oftheratedvoltage.
Operationunderabnormalconditions
a.Thegeneratorshallbecapableofwithstandingacurrentoverloadof50%abovetheratedamperagefor1minutewhilemaintainingtheapproximateratedvoltageoutput.
b.Thegeneratorshallbecapableofwithstanding,withoutdamage,a30-second,three-phaseshortcircuitatitsterminalswhenoperatingatratedkilovoltampere(KVA)andpowerfactor,at5%over-voltage,withfixedexcitation.
c.Thegeneratorshallalsobecapableofwithstanding,withoutdamage,anyothershortcircuitatitsterminalsof30secondsorless,provided:
∙Themachinephasecurrentsunderfaultconditionsaresuchthatthenegativephasesequencecurrent,(I2)expressedinperunitofstatorcurrentatratedKVA,andthedurationofthefaultinseconds(t)arelimitedtovalueswhichgiveanintegratedproduct,(I2)2t,equaltoorlessthan40,
∙Themaximumphasecurrentislimitedbyexternalmeanstoavaluewhichdoesnotexceedthemaximumphasecurrentobtainedfromthethree-phasefault.
d.Thegeneratorshallbecapableofcontinuousoperationinanunbalancedsystemwithnoneofthephasecurrentsexceedingtheratedcurrent.
e.Thegeneratorshallbecapableofcontinuousoperationwithnoneofthephasecurrentsexceedingtheratedcurrenteventhoughthevoltage,frequency,andpowerfactorexceeddesignratingsby10%.
f.Thegeneratorshallbecapableofrunningatleast20%abovetheratedspeedfor5minuteswithoutmechanicaldamage.
g.Thegeneratorarmatureshallbecapableofwithstanding,atleasttwiceayear,acurrentoverloadof30%abovetheratedamperageforaminimumof1minute,withoverloadstartingfromstabilizednormaloperatingtemperaturesatratedconditions.
h.Thegeneratorfieldwindingshallbecapableofwithstanding,atleasttwiceayear,avoltageoverloadof25%abovetheratedvoltageforaminimumof1minutewiththeoverloadstartingfromstabilizednormaloperatingtemperaturesatratedconditions.
4.2.2.Physicalcharacteristics
Liftinglugsshallbeincorporatedinthegeneratortofacilitateasingle-pointliftwithoutaspreaderbar,ifpracticable.
4.3.DesignandConstruction
4.3.1.General
a.ThegeneratorshallcomplywithNEMAMG1,MotorsandGenerators(orIECequivalent).
b.Thegeneratorandtheauxiliaryequipmentshallincorporatefeaturesthatfacilitateinterconnectionwithassociateddriverequipment.
c.ThegeneratorshallbeTEFCtype.
d.Thegeneratorshallbedesignedsothattherotorcanberemovedfromthegeneratorenclosurewithoutdisturbingthestator.
e.Embedded,encapsulated,100-ohmplatinum,resistancetemperaturedetectors(RTD)shallbeprovidedtomonitorthestatorwindingtemperatureatsixsuitablelocations(twoperphase).
f.Thegeneratorshallbesuitableforoperationina3-phase,3-wire,insulated(ungrounded)system.
g.ThegeneratorshallbeWyeconnected.Theneutralpointshallbefullyinsulatedfromthegeneratorframeandtheskidframe.
h.Theminimumsubtransientreactanceshallbeasspecifiedonthedatasheets.
i.Thetelephoneinfluencefactor(TIF)ofthegenerator,measuredatthegeneratorterminals,shallnotexceed100balancedand75unbalanced.
j.Thegeneratorshallbecapableofeithersynchronizingwithalivecircuitorclosingonadeadbus.
k.Thegeneratorshallhaveprelubricated,shieldedballbearing.
4.3.2.Insulation
a.GeneratorinsulationshallbeNEMAClassF.
b.Theinsulationshallbetreatedfora100%relativehumiditytropicalenvironmentandshallnotsupportfungusgrowth.
c.Generatorstatorinsulationshallbethevacuum-pressure-impregnationprocess(VPI)andshallreceiveaminimumofthreecompleteVPIcycles.IfVPIisnotavailable,thenormalinsulationshallbesupplementedwithextradipsandbakesformaximumprotectionagainstmoistureandsaltcontamination.
d.TheinsulationdesignshallbeconsistentwithaNEMAClassBtemperaturerise,assumingthatthetemperatureoftheambientairusedforcoolingis40C(104‘F).
4.3.3.Exciters
a.Thegeneratorshallhaverotating,brushlessexciterswithhermeticallysealeddiodesandthree-phase,full-waverectification.
b.Themainexcitershallbeoftherevolvingarmaturetypeandhaveanominalresponsenotlessthat1.0,withrotatingrectifiersdirectlyconnectedtothegeneratorfield.Theratingoftherotatingrectifiersshallbecapableofwithstandingtransientovercurrentsresultingfromashortcircuitatthegeneratorstatorterminals.
c.Theratedoutputoftheexciterandrectifierassemblyshallbe110%ofthecontinuousmaximumgeneratorexcitationvoltageandcurrentrating.Eacharmoftherectifierbridgeshallbecapableofwithstandingpeakreversevoltageduetopoleslippingorfaultysynchronizing.
4.3.4.Spaceheaters
Generatorandexciteranticondensationheatersshallbeprovidedtomaintaintheinteriortemperatureofthegeneratorandexciter5❍C(41‘F)abovetheambienttemperature.Theheatersshallberatedfora220-Volt,50-Hertz,single-Phasepowersupply.
4.3.5.Cablingandterminalboxes
a.AllcablesonthegeneratorthatinterconnectequipmentandjunctionboxesshallbeprovidedbythegeneratorVendor.SuchcablingshallbeinaccordancewiththespecificationSPC-LD-EL-014,"Power,Control&EarthingCable".
b.Cableswithintheskidsshallbeterminatedbymeansofcompressiontypecableglands(suppliedbythegeneratorVendor).thecableglandmustbebrassandsuitableforamourcable.atsametimethevendorshouldsupplycableglandforalloutgoingcables.
c.Allgeneratorterminalboxesshallbetotallyenclosed.Controlboxesshallbeequippedwithterminalsforoutgoingcables.
d.Oneormoreseparateterminalboxesshallbeprovideforeachofthefollowing.

e.Allspareconductorsshallhaveanindividualterminalforeachwire.
4.3.6.Voltageregulation
a.VoltageregulationandsuppressionequipmentshallbesuppliedforinstallationinthegeneratorremotecontrolpanelfurnishedbythegeneratorVendor.Regulationandsuppressionequipmentshallbereliable,fullysuitableforcontrolandprotectionofthegenerator,andofhighquality.
b.Anacceptablemethodshallbeprovidedformanualvoltageregulation(MVR)controlofcoarseandfineexcitation.Controlshallbeprovidedoverthecompleterangeofthegeneratorcharacteristicoutput,startingfromapproximatelyzeroterminalvoltageonanopencircuit.
c.Theautomaticvoltageregulation(AVR)shallbeprovid
