新视野大学英语第一册教学大纲
《新编大学英语第四册》教学大纲
本门课程的教学目标和要求:
培养学生具有较强的阅读能力、一定的听和译的能力,一定的写和说的能力,使他们能以英语为工具获取专业所需要的信息。
大学英语教学应该帮助学生掌握良好的语言学习方法,打下扎实的语言基础,提高文化素养,培养学生语言运用能力、交流信息能力,以适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。
教学重点和难点:
本册要求学生掌握词汇量达600个左右,常用固定搭配、短语、习语、成语等200个左右。
课文内容的剖析及理解,掌握作者写作目的及行文的结构方式。
教学对象:
二年级非英语专业本科生
教学方式:
课堂讲授精读和课后练习3学时,听力1学时。
教学时数:
周学时4,总学时72(3学时精读,1学时听力)

Whysomepeoplearehappywhileothersarenot?
Ancientpeoplehaddifferentspeculations.Today’sscientists,however,haveexplodedsomemythsabouthappiness.Theyhavediscoveredthatage,sexandincomedonotpredetermineone’ssenseofhappiness.Instead,variousstudiesrevealthatfourtraits—highself-esteem,self-control,optimisticandextrovert—arecharacteristicofhappypeople.Peoplecanpursuehappinessthroughactingasiftheypossessthefourtraits.Ontheotherhand,one’ssenseofhappinesscanonlyfluctuatearoundapointsetbygeneticmakeup.Furthermore,close,supportiverelationshipalsomarkshappylife.
