SPECWRITERSNOTES:

Forlargerprojectsinvolvingmorethanfiveairhandlingunits,theA/EshallselectafewtypicalAHUs,indifferentconfigurations,foraninitialsubmission.Thesuggesteddifferentconfigurationsare:

1.100percentoutsideairAHUswithorwithoutheatrecoverycoils.

2.Re-circulatingtypeofvariableairvolumeAHUswithminimumoutsideairandeconomizercyclefeatures.Theremainingsubmissionshallbereceivedonlyaftertheinitialsubmissionisapprovedwithsatisfactoryresolutionofallcommentsmadeduringthereviewandapprovalprocess.

1.4.SUBMITTALS:

A.Thecontractorshall,inaccordancewithSection013323,SHOPDRAWINGS,PRODUCTDATA,ANDSAMPLES,furnishacompletesubmissionforallairhandlingunitscoveredintheproject.Thesubmissionshallincludeallinformationlistedbelow.Partialandincompletesubmissionsshallberejectedwithoutreviews.

B.Manufacturer'sLiteratureandData:

1.SubmittalsforAHUsshallincludefans,drives,motors,coils,//humidifiers,//soundattenuators//,mixingboxwithoutside/returnairdampers,filterhousings,//blendersections//,andallotherrelatedaccessories.Thecontractorshallprovidecustomdrawingsshowingtotalairhandlingunitassemblyincludingdimensions,operatingweight,accesssections,//diffusionplates//,flexibleconnections,doorswings,controlspenetrations,electricaldisconnect,lights,duplexreceptacles,switches,wiring,utilityconnectionpoints,unitsupportsystem,vibrationisolators,drainpan,pressuredropsthrougheachcomponent（filter,coiletc）.

2.Submittaldrawingsofsectionorcomponentonlywillnotbeacceptable.Contractorshallalsosubmitperformancedataincludingperformancetestresults,charts,curvesorcertifiedcomputerselectiondata;datasheets;fabricationandinsulationdetails.Iftheunitcannotbeshippedinonepiece,thecontractorshallindicatethenumberofpiecesthateachunitwillhavetobebrokenintotomeetshippingandjobsiteriggingrequirements.ThisdatashallbesubmittedinhardcopiesandinelectronicversioncompatibletoAutoCADversionusedbytheVAatthetimeofsubmission.

3.SubmitsoundpowerlevelsineachoctavebandfortheinletanddischargeofthefanandatentranceanddischargeofAHUsatscheduledconditions.InabsenceofsoundpowerratingsrefertoSection230541,NOISEANDVIBRATIONCONTROLFORHVACPIPINGANDEQUIPMENT.

4.ProvidefancurvesshowingLiters/Second（cubicfeetperminute）,staticpressure,efficiency,andhorsepowerfordesignpointofoperationandatmaximumdesignLiters/Second（cubicfeetperminute）.

5.Submittotalfanstaticpressure,externalstaticpressure,forAHUincludingtotal,inletanddischargepressures,anditemizedspecifiedinternallossesandunspecifiedinternallosses.Refertoairhandlingunitscheduleondrawings.

C.MaintenanceandoperatingmanualsinaccordancewithSection010000,GENERALREQUIREMENTS.Includeinstructionsforlubrication,filterreplacement,motoranddrivereplacement,sparepartlists,andwiringdiagrams.

D.Submitwrittentestprocedurestwoweekspriortofactorytesting.Submitwrittenresultsoffactorytestsforapprovalpriortoshipping.

E.Submitshippinginformationthatclearlyindicateshowtheunitswillbeshippedincompliancewiththedescriptionsbelow.

1.Unitsshallbeshippedinone

（1）piecewherepossibleandinshrinkwrappingtoprotecttheunitfromdirt,moistureand/orroadsalt.

2.Ifnotshippedinone

（1）piece,providemanufacturerapprovedshippingsplitswhererequiredforinstallationortomeetshippingand/orjobsiteriggingrequirementsinmodularsections.Indicateclearlythattheshippingsplitsshowninthesubmittalshavebeenverifiedtoaccommodatetheconstructionconstraintsforriggingasrequiredtocompleteinstallationandremovalofanysectionforreplacementthroughavailableaccesswithoutadverselyaffectingothersections.

3.Ifshippingsplitsareprovided,eachcomponentshallbeindividuallyshrinkwrappedtoprotecttheunitandallnecessaryhardware（e.g.bolts,gasketsetc.）willbeincludedtoassembleunitonsite（seesection2.1.A4）.

4.Liftinglugswillbeprovidedtofacilitateriggingonshippingsplitsandjoiningofsegments.Iftheunitcannotbeshippedinonepiece,thecontractorshallindicatethenumberofpiecesthateachunitwillhavetobebrokenintotomeetshippingandjobsiteriggingrequirements.
