  Well,ThereisaChristiansaying.Itsays,"Prophetsdied,saintsdied,greatmendied-noneofthemeverreturnedtolife.WhenChristdiedsomepeoplerememberedthathehadforetoldhisresurrection……"

  Behindthefestivejoys,feast,funandfamilyenjoyment,Easterremindsallofasignificantevent.TheeventthatJesusChristwasresurrected,afterhavingsufferedanddied.ItremindsyouthatChrist,whowascrucifiedon,whatisnowcalled,theGoodFriday,showedhimselfupontheEaster.So,itisatimetocelebrate.Tocelebrate-thatLord,whoappearedonEarthforthegoodofmankind,isalwayswithus.

  ThatJesuswouldresurrectwasforetold.Thesayingcameasoneofhisprophecies.

  And,withmemoriessharpenedbyhatred,hisenemieswerethefirsttorememberhisprophecy.HardlyhadhebeenburiedwhentheyapproachedtheRomanGovernorPontiusPilatewitharequesttoguardthetomb.Pilategavethemsoldiersandinstructedthemtosecurethetomb.Theywent,sealedthestonethatclosedtheentrance,andsettheguardstokeepwatchdayandnight.

  DuringthenightofFriday,thedayofhisCrucifixion,throughtoSaturday,nothinghadreallyhappened.SodidgothethewholeofSaturday,theweeklyrestdayinJerusalemthen.

  ThethingsturneddifferentontheearlymorningoftheSunday,thethirddaysinceJesuswascrucified.Therewasagreatuproarandtheguardsofthetombwereallstruckbylightning.foranangeloftheLorddescendedfromheavenandcameandrolledbackthestone,andsatuponit.Hisfaceshininglikelightningandhisgarmentswhiteassnow.Atthissight,thesoldierstrembledwithfearandremainedasdeadmen.Whentheycametotheirsensestherewasnopointinwatchingoveranemptytombanylonger.

  Theywenttoreportthechiefpriestabouttheincident.Inreplytheywereaskedtodistortthetruth.AndspreadastorythatthebodyofJesuswasstolenbyhisowndiscipleswhentheguardswereasleepduringthenight.

  Meanwhile,earlyonthefollowingmorning,thatwasSundaymorning,someholywomenstartedforthetomb.Theyweresurprisedtoseethatthestonehadbeenmovedaside.Theyenteredthetomb.Andfounditempty.Astheywonderedwhatallthesemeant,twoangelsappeared.TheangelstoldthemthatJesushadrisenagain,ashehadalreadytold.

  SoonPeter,thechiefofJesus'twelveapostlesgottherealongwithJohn,hisjunior.Theyfoundonlythelinenandthepieceofclothusedtowraphisbodyliedintheemptytomb.Puzzled,theyleft.

  ButJesuswasyettoappearinfrontofthem.Instead,Jesuswentfarther.HeturneduptojointwoofhisdiscipleswhowerejourneyingfromJerusalemtoavillagecalledEmmaus.However,Jesusdidnotmakehimselfknowntothem.JesustothemcametobeknownasastrangerwhohadrealmasteryovertheholyScriptures.ImpressedtheyinvitedJesustostaywiththemandsharetheirmeal.Jesusagreed.ButwhenatthetabletheyrecognizedJesus,hedisappeared.

  InnotimethetwodisciplesheadedforJerusalem.Whentheymettheapostlesandtoldthemabouteverythinghappened,Jesusmadehisappearance.AndJesusconvincedthemallthathewasaliveandaskedthemifanythingwastheretoeat.Thenheateintheirpresenceasalivingmandoes.Withthiseverybodytherebecameoverwhelmedwithjoythattheirmasterhadreturnedtolife.Andlifeagainhadbecomemeaningfultotheapostles.

  Jesushadeatenwiththem.Talkedtotheminafamiliarmanner.Andfinallyheremindedthemthathehadcomefromheaven,sentbyhisFathertoperformatask.Now,thetaskhadbeendonebyofferinghislifeforthesinsofmankind,itistimefortheapostlestofollowhissuit.AndJesusgavetheapostlestheHolySpirit:

thepoweroversin.Soonewhosesinsareforgivenbytheapostles,wouldbeforgivenbytheheaven.AfterthisJesusleft,assuddenlyashecamein.

  JesusreturnedtothesameplaceontheSundaynext,tomakebelievetheunbelievers.AndJesusshowedhimselfnowandthentoteachhisapostlesthelessonsandtoteachthemtolivewithouthim.Jesusdidthisforaperiodoffortydays.

  Onthefortiethdayofreappearance,whenhefelthehadgiventhedisciplesallthathehadto,hewentbacktotheheaven.ThissameJesuswillcomebackjustthesamewayHehasleft.
