A.TheserequirementscoverFlexibleCordforuseinaccordancewithArticle400oftheNationalElectricalCodeandTypeXTWandCXTWDecorativeLightingCords.TheStandardforFlexibleCordandFixtureWire,UL62,andtheReferenceStandardforElectricalWires,CablesandFlexibleCords,UL 

1581,areapplicableforinspectionsinthiscategory.SubscribersmayalsohavetheircordsCertifiedForCanadabyULundertheCanadianStandardC22.2No. 

49.TheAuthorizationPagefortheProcedurewillnoteauthorizationforuseoftheCanadianULMarkonFlexibleCordproductionaccordingly.ThedescriptivesectionsoftheProcedurewillidentifytheCanadianTypesauthorizedforthemanufacturer,andtheircorrespondingULTypeDesignationsifproductsmeetbothCanadianandU.S.requirements,ortheCanadianTypesauthorizedforthemanufacturerforproductswhichmeetonlyCanadianRequirements.TheProcedurewillcontaininstructionsthatcoverthegenericmarking,labelingandtestrequirementsforsuchcords.

B.TheseinstructionsdonotcoverHoistwayCablewhichisalsoidentifiedinUL 

62.Follow-UpInspectionrequirementsforHoistwayCablearedefinedintherespectiveFollow-UpandInspectionInstructionsand/orFollow-UpServiceProceduresforthiscategory.ForspecificFlexibleCordtypescoveredbythisFUII,refertotheIndexTablesthatarelocatedinfrontofUL62.

D.TheFollow-UpServiceProcedurecoveringtheproductisloanedtothemanufacturerandconstitutesthebasisonwhichtheproductisjudgedforcompliancewiththeapplicablerequirements.

F.ConfinethemarkingsreferencingULasindicatedinParagraphE,tothelocationorlocationsauthorizedintheseinstructionsortheFollow-UpServiceProcedure.

G.Duringhoursinwhichthefactoryisinoperation,permittheULRepresentativewithfreeaccesstoanyportionofthepremiseswheretheproductorcomponentsthereofarebeingfabricated,processed,finishedorstored,andtothetestareaassignedfortheULRepresentative'

suse.TheULRepresentativeshallbepermittedtoinspectandsubjecttotheprescribedtests,priortoshipment,anyproductbearingorintendedtobearmarkingsreferencingULasindicatedinParagraphE.

H.Provide,ataconvenientlocation,allrequiredtestequipmentandfacilitiesandanyrequiredpersonnelforconductingallteststhataretobeperformedatthefactory.Theseshallbeavailablewhenneededsothattheinspectionworkcanproceedwithoutunduedelay.

I.WheresospecifiedbytheseFollow-UpandInspectionInstructions,samplesselectedbytheULRepresentativeshallbeforwardedtothespecifiedULTestingLaboratoryforFollow-UpTests.ThepackagingofFollow-UpTestsamplesistheresponsibilityofthemanufacturer.TheshipmentofFollow-UpTestsamplestoaULTestingOfficeistheresponsibilityoftheULRepresentativeandthisshalltakeplacewithinfiveworkingdaysoftheULRepresentative'

sinspectionvisit.

Determinethatrequiredtestequipmentisfunctioningproperlydaily,andhaveitcalibratedatleastannually,orwheneverithasbeensubjecttoabuse（suchasbeingdroppedorstruckwithanobject）oritsaccuracyisquestionable.Thetestequipmentandinstrumentsshallbecalibratedeitherbythemanufacturerorbyanoutsidelaboratory.Ineithercase,itshallbecalibratedbycomparisonwithastandardthatistraceabletotheapplicableU.S.orForeignNationalStandard.Aletterfromtheoutsidelaboratoryorfromanoff-sitemanufacturer’scalibrationlabstatingthattheirlabstandardsaredirectlytraceabletotheircountry’sNationalStandardandoutliningtheirtraceabilitypathwayisconsideredadequateproofoftraceability.Forin-housecalibrations,theStandard（weightandgaugeblocks,etc.）usedshallbecalibratedeverythreeyears,orwhenevertheStandardhasbeensubjecttosomeformofabusethatmayaffecttheStandard’sfitnessforuse.TheStandardshallbestoredtoprotectitfromdamageordeteriorationpertheStandardmanufacturer’srecommendations.RecordsofthecalibrationofthetestequipmentandStandard（s）shallbemaintaineduntilthenextrequiredcalibrationiscompletedandrecorded,andshallbereadilyavailableforreviewbytheULRepresentative.

J.Examinerepresentativesamplesofproductionbearing,orintendedtobear,theULMarkorMarkingtodeterminecompliancewiththeprovisionsoftheFollow-UpServiceProcedure,theapplicableULStandard（s）andtheseFollow-UpandInspectionInstructions.Aproduct,whichisfoundtohavefeaturesthatmakeitunacceptabletobearamarkingreferencingUL,shallbeacceptablycorrectedifthemarkingistoberetained.Carefullychecksubsequentproductionforsuchfeaturesuntilconditionsareagainconsideredacceptable.

K.AproductthatdoesnotcomplywiththerequirementsoftheFollow-UpServiceProcedureandtheseFollow-UpandInspectionInstructionsshallhaveeachULreferencingMarkremovedfromtheproduct,orobliteratedfromtheproductwherethemarkingisimprinted,die-stamped,molded,orthelike.IftherejectionoftheproductisquestionedbythemanufacturerandApplicant,theproductmaybeheldatthepointofinspection,typicallyatthefactory,pendinganappeal.ThemanufacturerandApplicanthavetherighttoappealadecisionwithwhichtheydisagree.ProvidethenameoftheULengineertowhomtheappealistobemade.Toresolveissuesinvolvingvariationsinconstruction,themanufacturerandApplicantmayalsobeofferedtheoptionofcontactingtheirNewWorkassignmentengineer.HeldshipmentappealsinvolvingFollow-UpServicesissues（e.g.-improperlabeling,etc.）shouldbedirectedtoanappropriatestaffmemberdesignatedbytheReviewingOffice,suchastheResponsibleReviewingOfficePersonnel（RROP）fortheproductcategory.ShouldULgranttemporaryauthorizationforthecontinueduseoftheULMark,suchtemporaryauthorizationshallonlybeforthetimeneededtoreviewand/orprocesstheProcedurerevisions,orasotherwisespecifiedtocoveraparticularlotorproductionrun.ThemanufacturershalldemonstratethatallMarksreferencingULareremovedfromtherejectedproduct.ThoseMarksreferencingULnotdestroyedduringtheirremovalfromtheproductshallberetrievedfromthemanufacturer’scontroland,either
