1Scope

ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesfundamentaltechniquesofradiographywiththeobjectofenabling

satisfactoryandrepeatableresultstobeobtainedeconomically.Thetechniquesarebasedongenerally

recognizedpracticeandfundamentaltheoryofthesubject.

Thisstandardappliestotheradiographictestingoffusionweldedjointsinmetallicmaterials.

Itappliestothejointsofplatesorpipes.Besidesitsconventionalmeaning,“pipe”asusedinthisstandard

shouldbeunderstoodtocoverothercylindricalbodiessuchastubes,penstocks,boilerdrumsandpressure
