1.AligningtheLPtotheFrontalGantryUsingthe5-AxisLaser
Placethelaseralignmenttoolsinthefrontalpivotarm,LCLarm,lateralXRTcolimatorplateandtheLPC-arc(clickinsidetheredboxesforanexpoldedviewofeacharea.Thelaserwillrepresenttheiso-centerpointofthesystem.AlignthelasertotheplatesonthefrontalpivotandfrontalL-Arm.MovetheLPcarriage(longitudinalaxis)toalignwiththeverticallineofthelaser.Makeamarkonthestationaryrailforfuturereference.AdjusttheLP4carriagelateralbearingstoalignwiththeverticallineofthelaser.LeveltheLPC-arcusingthelevelfromtheLPToolKit.AlignLPC-archeightbyadjustingthefourheightadjustmentbolts.NoticethelaserontheXRTalignment.Finalalignmentisillustratedherewithall5beamsofthelaseralignedwiththerespectivecenteringpoints.
2.LP4Isocenteralignmentaddendum
TheLP4XRTLaseralignmentplate(ciblelasertiltplate–p/n5181705)hastwosides,onetobeusedonthe3131Combocollimatoradaptorplate,andoneforuseonthe2121Cardiocollimatoradaptorplate.Therearetwoflangepinsalignedonbothsidesoftheplate.Thesearetorestontheroundcollimatoradaptorring.Offsetfromtheseflangepins,aretwoalignmentpins:
asolidpinthatisforthe2121ringnotch,andapinwithaholeinitforthe3131alignmentpin.
Inactuality,withalevelLP4C-arc,neither“alignment”pinwouldberequired.Thelaseralignmentplatewouldrestperfectlyonthecollimatoradaptorplatewiththeflangepins,andnotfalloff…
Seethefollowingthreefiguresdepictingthetwosidesandtheirdifferentpinsofthislaseralignmentplate.BluepinsinFigure5arethealigned“flange”pinsthataresupposedtorestonthecollimatoradaptorring.Theimageaboveisshowinghowthelaserplatewouldbeplacedona3131adaptorplate.The‘crosshairs”ofthelaserplateareverticalandhorizontal,andtheflangepinsarefirmlyrestingonthecollimatoradaptorring.Thepictureaboveshowsthelaserplateona2121adaptorplate,butshowsitmountedcorrectly.Withareal3131collimatoradaptorplate,thepinwiththeholeontherightwouldbe“plugged”withthealignmentpin(emphasizedinyellow)fromthat3131adaptorplate…Theimageaboveisshowinghowthelaserplatewouldbeplacedona2121adaptorplate.The‘crosshairs”ofthelaserplatearetilted,asthesolidpinontheothersideofthelaserplateisrestinginthenotchofthecollimatoradaptorring.Thelaserplateflangepinsarebothfirmlyrestingonthecollimatoradaptorring.
Ifyoutrytomaketheplaterestwiththe“crosshairs”ofthelaserplateverticalandhorizontal,likethe3131placement,thesolidpinwillberestingonthecollimatoradaptorring,raisingthelaserplate,resultingintheheightadjustmentoftheLP4beingtoolow…
Inthatposition,theflangepinnexttothesolid2121pinisnotrestingontheadaptorringasrequired.
Asareference,thecollimatoradaptorringonboththe2121and3131platesis135mmindiameter.Whenthelaseralignmentplateissettingproperly,thecenterofthe“crosshair”lineswillmeasure67.5mmtotheedgeoftheadaptorplatering.Seefollowingpicturesforreference.(Note:
