Iwasonly12whenwemovedtoCalifornia.IrememberthatIenjoyedflyingnon-stopacrossawholecountryandthatIwasn’tveryhappyaboutleavemyfriends.ButDadthinkit’dbegoodforwealltoliveinasuburb（郊区）insteadinthemiddleofacity.AndUncleJeff,hisbrother,who’dbeenlivinginCaliforniaforabout20years,werealwaystellingushowwonderfulCaliforniaitwas.HesaiditwouldbeeasilyforDadtogetajobdrivingataxi,thathadbeenDad’sjobinNewYork.Butweallagreedtotryitforoneyear.
