today’scollegeeducationprovidesuswithopportunitiesforbringingoutthecreativityandtalentthatwehavewithinus.thisisnurturedbothbyourlearnedprofessors,andbythegrowingdimensionofknowledgesources,suchastheworldwidewebandmultimediasources.oureducationalexperienceisbeingtransformedbothwithinandbeyondthetraditionalclassroom.however,challengesstillexist.

attheendofeverysemester,studentsinmyuniversityarerequiredtofilloutaquestionnaireasareviewoftheprevioussemester.thequestionsusuallycoverabroadrangeofcollegelife,fromcurriculumadjustmenttocanteenservice.andalmosteverytime,thequestionnaireincludesoneessentialquestion,thatis:

asacollegestudent,whatareyourmajorchallenges?

andalmosteveryanswerincludestwoaspects:

studyingandprofessional.thesetwochallengeswillremainourpreoccupationsaslongasweliveinsuchacompetitiveworld.

aseriesofchallengesinourstudiesstartfromalmostthebeginningofourfreshmanyear.wemaywonderwhetherwe’vechosentherightmajor.wemaywonderiftheextracurricularactivitiesaddcreditstoourstudies.wemayworkourheadsofftogetagloriousa,becausebisalreadymediocreandcisalmostunacceptable.lateronwemaybecompetingwithourhardworking,intelligentpeers,includingourbestfriendstogetintoanidealgraduateschool.allofthesesoundsofamiliarandtheyhavesomehowmadeourcollegeeducationsogoal-obsessedthatwesometimesfailtofullyenjoyoureducationalexperience.

itwastheworstoftimes.”andi’mafraidsoitiswithourtime.

iusedtobeveryshyandoftenfeltlonely.althoughididwellinalltheacademicsubjects,iwasafraidofphysicaleducation.myclassmatesoftenlaughedatme.
