Atthestartoftheretreat,T.J,didn’treadilyjointhediscussiongroupsanddidn’tseemtohavemuchtosay.Butwhenhisgroupstartedadiscussionaboutpositiveandnegativethingsthathadhappenedatschoolthatyear,hejoinedinandhadclearthoughtsonthosesituations,andtheotherstudentsinhisgroupwelcomedhiscomments.Suddenly,T.J.feltlikeapartofthegroup,andsoonhewastreatedlikealeader.Hewassayingthingsthatmadealotofsense,andeveryonewaslistening.BytheendoftheretreathehadjoinedtheHomelessProjectteam.Theotherstudentsontheteamwereimpressed(打动)withhisideasandloveforthehomeless.TheyelectedT.J.vice-chairmanoftheteam.
