Abstract:

ExplicitanddetailedrulesaregivenforpreparingamanuscriptforOSAExpressJournals.Afterageneralintroductionandasummaryofthebasicrequirements,specificguidelinesaregivenforallmajormanuscriptelements（suchasabstract,headings,figures,tables,andreferences）toachieveoptimaltypographicquality.Theuseofcompleteandproperlyformattedreferencesisparticularlyimportant.

Exceptfornumberingandtitlingofsections,whichmaynotbedesirableforshortarticles,theexpressjournalstyleandlayoutruleshavebeenfollowedinthisguide.AlsonotethatthereisachecklistavailableinSection6thatsummarizesthestylespecifications.

2.Pagelayoutandlength

PapersizeshouldbeU.S.Letter,21.505cmx27.83cm（8.5in.x11in.）.Theprintingareashouldbesetto13.28cmx21.54cm（5.25in.x8.5in.）;

marginsshouldbesetfora2.54-cm（1in.）topand4.11-cm（1.625in.）left,right,andbottom.

Tomaintainarapidpublicationcycle,therecommendedpagelengthforanexpressjournalarticleis6pages.Higherpublicationfeesapplytoarticles7–15pagesinlength.Thereisanadditionalper-pagefeeformanuscriptslongerthan15pages.

3.Software

OSAExpressJournalsacceptWordandTeXfiles.

4.Typographicalstyle

AllfontsfortextshouldbesomeversionofTimesNewRoman.Textshouldbe10-pt.,thetitleshouldbe18-pt.,andtheaffiliationandreferencesshouldbe8-pt.Donotaddhyphenationattheendofaline.

Centerthetitle.Thetitleshouldbein18-pt.boldfont.Useinitialcapforfirstwordintitleorforpropernouns.Uselowercasefollowingcolon.Titleshouldnotbeginwithanarticleorcontainthewords"
