We’dbeenstationaryataredlightbutthebusstartedtomoveslowly,atabout5mph,onitsown.Everythingwentintoslowmotion.Iheadedtothefrontandyelledforsomeonetocallthepolice.Thedriverhadfallenfromhisseatandhisfeethadcomeoffthepedals.Hewasontheground,shaking.Hiswholebodywasblockingthefrontofthebus.Icouldn’treachthebrakesorsitdown.Iinstantlywentintoproblem-solvingway.

ThenIsawacarcomingtowardsus--wewereinthemiddleoftheintersectionandhadstarteddriftingintotheoppositelane.Ileanedoverthedriverandgrabbedthewheel,thenIsteeredusthroughtheintersectiontothesideoftheroad.Ipulledthemassiveemergencybrake,hopingitwouldstopthebus,anditdid.Ourheadteacherandanambulancearrivedwithinfiveminutes.Thedriverhadhadaheartattack;hewassenttohospitalimmediately.
