WHATWECANEXPECTFROMTHEBRAKES
Whatexactlyarewelookingforinbrakingsystemperformance?
Firstofallweneedabrakingsystemwhichiscapableofdevelopingenoughbrakingforcetoexceedthedecelerationcapacityofthetires-atanyspeedthatthevehiclecanreach-timeaftertime,forthedurationoftherace.Allracingcars,andmanymodifiedproductioncars,havesuchasystem-providedthatitisproperlyinstalled,adjustedandmaintained.Thebrakingeffortproducedmustbedirectlyandlinearlyproportionaltothepedalpressureexertedbythedriver.Further,thedrivereffortrequiredmustbereasonable,pedalpressuresmustbeneithersogreatthatGodzillaisrequiredtostopthecarnorsolightthatitwillbeeasytolockthetires.Thepedalpositionmustbecorrectlymatchedtothegeometryofthedriver'
