Thereweremanyflowersandtreesaroundourcity.Wecouldhearthebirds

SoIthinkweshoulddosomethingtoprotectourenvironment.

However,therearestillmanyproblemsofenvironmentalprotectionin

recentyears.Oneofthemostseriousproblemsistheseriouspollutionofair,

waterandsoil.thepollutedairdoesgreatharmtopeople’shealth.The

pollutedwatercausesdiseasesanddeath.Whatismore,vegetationhadbeen

greatlyreducedwiththerapidgrowthofmoderncities.Ontheonehand,the

environmentpollutionanddestructionaregettingworseandworseinthemodern

world.Ontheotherhand,thelackofknowledgeabouttheimportanceof

protectingenvironmenthindersthesolvingoftheproblem.Inaword,thereisa

longwaytogobeforeweenjoyacleanandcomfortableworld.

Toprotecttheenvironment,governmentsofmanycountrieshavedonealot.

Legislativestepshavebeenintroducedtocontrolairpollution,toprotectthe

forestandsearesourcesandtostopanyenvironmentalpollution.Therefore,

governmentsareplayingthemostimportantroleintheenvironmentalprotection

today.

Inmyopinion,toprotectenvironment,thegovernmentmusttakeevenmore

concretemeasures.First,itshouldletpeoplefullyrealizetheimportanceof

environmentalprotectionthrougheducation.Second,muchmoreeffortsshouldbe

madetoputthepopulationplanningpolicyintopractice,becausemorepeople

meansmorepollution.Finally,thosewhodestroytheenvironmentintentionally

shouldbeseverelypunished.Weshouldletthemknowthatdestroyingenvironment

meansdestroyingmankindthemselves.
