1.Introduction

ThisdocumentispartofthedeliverablesfortheGPRSplanningsupportservices.

ItisadescriptionofthecontentsoftheGPRSperformancereportsthatshouldberunfortheSmartGPRSnetwork.DuringtheGPRSplanningproject,itwillevolvetocoverallrelevantperformanceindicators.

Whereapplicable,thresholdsfortheperformanceindicatorsarerecommended,alongwiththeactionsthatneedtobetakenifthethresholdsareexceeded.

2.FormulaReferences

FortheformulasthatareapartoftheBSSNetworkDoctorpackage,theNetworkDoctorformulareferenceisincludedtomakeiteasiertoidentifytheKPIintheNetworkDoctorreports.

3.NetworkUsage

ThisclassofKPIsgivesanoverviewofthegeneraluseoftheGPRSnetwork:

HowmanyMegabytesaretransferred,howmanyusers,whereisthetraffic,whatkindofapplicationsareusedetc.

Nothresholdsaregiveninthissection,sincetheseKPIsaremeanttoshowhowtheGPRSusageisgrowing,nottopinpointpotentialproblems.

3.1Totaltraffic

ThisKPIgivesthetotaltrafficthroughtheSGSNsinthedownlinkaswellasintheuplinkdirection.ItcouldalsobetakenfromBSCcounters,butsinceitisverylikelythatthenecessarymeasurementsarerunninginalltheSGSNs（andiftheydon’t,itwouldbeveryeasytodiscoverit）,itisrecommendedtobasethisKPIontheSGSNcounters.
