Inthesurvey,theseolderadultswereaskedtolistuptofiveoftheirclosestfriends,describeindetailthenatureofeachrelationship,andindicatehowclosetheyfelttoeachperson.Notincludingspouses(配偶),theaveragenumberofclosefriendswas2.91,andmostolderadultssensedhighlevelsofsupportfromtheirsocialcontacts.Additionally,mostrespondentsweremarried,ingoodphysicalhealth,andreportednotbeingverylonely.
