Currently,intheglobal3Dprinterindustry,theUnitedStatesSystems3DandStratasystwocompaniestooccupythevastmajorityofthemarketshare.Inaddition,inthisfieldhasastrongtechnicalstrengthandcharacteristicsoftheenterprise,Systems3Distheworld'slargestrapidprototypingequipmentdevelopmentcompany.InNovember2011acquiredthefirstinventorofthe3DprintingtechnologyandtheoriginalpatentownerCorporationZ,Systems3Dhaslaidaleadingpositioninthefieldof3Dprinting.Stratasyscompanyin2010withthetraditionalprintingindustrygiantHewlett-PackardCosignedaOEMcooperationagreement,theproductionof3DbrandHPprinter.FollowingtheacquisitionofSolidscapeinMay2011,StratasysinApril2012withIsrael'sfamous3DprintingsystemproviderObjetannouncedthemerger.Atpresent,theinternational3Dprintermanufacturingindustryisinarapidmergerandintegrationprocess,theindustrygiantsareacceleratingtherise.

Since1990s,manycollegesanduniversitieshavecarriedouttheindependentresearchanddevelopmentof3Dprintingtechnology.TsinghuaUniversityinmodernmoldingsciencetheory,laminatedobjectmanufacturing,FDMtechnologyhassomeadvantagesofscientificresearch;HuazhongUniversityofscienceandtechnologyinthelaminatedobjectmanufacturingtechnologyadvantage,andhaslaunchedaseriesofHRPmoldingmachineandmoldingmaterials[1];Xi'anJiaotongUniversityindependentlydevelopeda3Dprinternozzle,andthedevelopmentofthelightcuringmoldingsystemandmoldingmaterials,moldingprecisionreached40.2mm;UniversityofscienceandtechnologyofChinadevelopedeightnozzlecombinationinjectiondevice,isexpectedtoinmicromanufacturing,thefieldofoptoelectronicdevicesareapplied.Butoverall,thedomestic3Dprintingtechnologyresearchanddevelopmentlevelisstillabiggapcomparedwithforeigncountries.
