Overview
ThisguideprovidesinstructionsonhowtouploadanewversionoftheVxRailsoftwareimagetoaVxRailGen2appliance.Thisprocessusesamobilebuildserver,whichisaportablevirtualmachinethatrunsonalaptopusingVMwareWorkstation（Windows）orVMwareFusion（Mac）.ThebuildservercontainstheVxRailsoftwareimage,andthecodeinstructionstouploadtheimagetoeachnode.ThisprocessrequiresdedicatedandisolatednetworkconnectivitybetweenthebuildserverandeachoftheVxRailnodesintheappliance.
ThisProcedureisdestructiveandwillpermenantlyerasealldataontheappliance.PriortousingthisproceduretoupgradeanVxRailAppliance,Allcustomerdatamustbebackedupormigrationofftheappliance.
Thisprocessincludesthesemajormilestonesinordertoassureasuccessfulupgrade:
