世界环境日为每年的6月5日，起始于1972年，它是联合国为了提高全球的环保意识而创建（内容来源好：

环境日的创立展现了人们对环境问题的认识和态度，表达了人们对美好环境的追求渴望。

每一年联合国环境规划署都会提出一个环境日主题，而XX年的主题主要着重于小岛屿与气候变化，今年的口号是“提高你的呼声，而不是海平面”。

庆祝世界环境日的方式多种多样，例如植树，对废物进行循环利用，参加清洁行动等等。

当然，人们也可以做些简单的小事来纪念，比如说不做私家车上班，改乘公交车去上班。
