AswehadhadalongwalkthroughoneofthemarketsofoldDelhi,westoppedatasquaretohavearest.Afteratime,wenoticedasnakecharmerwithtwolargebasketsattheothersideofthesquare,sowewenttohavealookathim.Assoonashesawus,hepickedupalongpipewhichwascoveredwithcoinsandopenedoneofthebaskets.Whenhebegantoplayatune,wehadourfirstglimpseofthesnake.Itroseoutofthebasketandbegantofollowthemovementsofthepipe.Wewereverymuchsurprisedwhenthesnakecharmersuddenlybegantoplayjazzandmodernpopsongs.Thesnake,however,continuedto'dance'slowly.ItobviouslycouldnottellthedifferencebetweenIndianmusicandjazz!
