diditwork,didithaveunacceptablesideeffects,andwastheFedrighttostop?

ThoughQEisoftendescribedasan“unconventional”formofmonetarypolicy(asopposedtomundaneadjustmentstointerestrates),ithasactuallybeeninuseforsometime.TheFederalReservetrieditfrom1932to1936,andtheBankofJapanintheearly2000s.Bothhaveuseditagainsincethefinancialcrisis,alongwiththeBankofEngland.

一般来说,QE有多种发挥作用的方式。
衰退初期,购买资产的主要目的是放松信贷。
具体的操作方式就是,引导流动性大军进入人心惶惶的市场。
经过一段时间后,QE的其他影响变得越来越重要了,如它对投资组合所带来的调整效应。
已经把债券出售给美联储的银行,通常希望用出售债券的所得,去购买一些其他资产。
当银行买入新的证券时,新凭空创造出来的新钱就会流经金融体系,抬高资产价格,降低利率。
