Itisauniversallyacknowledgedfactthathumanbeingspossessalargerbrainthananimals.Thisallowsustocoordinateourlivesbetterandcommunicatewitheachotheronahigher,moresophisticatedlevel.Languageisamodeofcommunicationwherewithalimitednumberofwordswecanproduceaninfinitenumberofsentences.Itgivesusthechancetodiscussideas,andlookattheworldwithacriticaleye.

(3)Sincethelanguagesoftheworlddifferinregardtotheirsemanticandstructuralcharacteristics,itseemssomewhatlogicaltoarguethatpeoplespeakingwidelydifferentlanguageswouldalsodifferinthewaytheyviewedandthoughtabouttheworld.Anexamplemayillustratethispoint.Ifonemustclassifythingssuchascamels,automobilesorsnowincertainways,thenonemustperceivethemdifferentlyfromsomeonewhodoesnotrequiretomakethesedistinctions.Eskimosmayhaveanumberofdifferentmeaningsfortheword“snow”,whereasweonlyhaveone.(4)Fromthiswecandeducethatitisstilldebatablewhetherweperceivetheworldinitsrealformorwhetherweareaffectedbythelanguageofoursocietywithoutusrealizing.Henceonecaninferthatlanguageimposesmeaningoneverythingexistinginourworldthroughthehumanbeing.
