neitherdwelthereunbrokenly,andPoedidnotevendiehere,thoughheoftencamenearstarving.OnecannotthenstrictlyspeakofanyearlyAmericanliterarycentreexceptBoston,andBoston,strictlyspeaking,wastheNewEnglandliterarycentre.
