Abstract

SongCistandsforthehighestachievementsoftheSongDynasty’sliterature.ThetranslationofSongCicanpromotetheexchangeofChineseandforeignculturesandcarryforwardtheChineseculture.Asawell-knowntranslator,XuYuanchongproposedthe“ThreeBeauty”theoryhasgreatguidanceinpoetrytranslation.ThisthesisanalyzesXuYuanchong’stranslationofLiQingzhao’sCiandpointsoutthatthetranslationnotonlyreproducesthe“ThreeBeauty”oftheoriginaltext,butalsothereadersofthetranslationcanfeelthesamebeautyastheoriginalreader.Basedontheabovediscussion,thispaperconcludesthat“ThreeBeauty”theorycanguidetheEnglishtranslationofLiQingzhao’sCi,sothatthereadersofthetranslationhavethesamebeautifulenjoymentwiththeoriginalreaders.

摘要

宋词标志着宋代文学的最高成就，宋词的翻译可以促进中外文化的交流，也可以弘扬中华文化。

许渊冲作为享誉国内外的翻译家，所提出的“三美”理论对诗词的翻译有极大的指导作用。

本文通过分析许渊冲英译李清照词，指出其翻译不仅再现了原词的“三美”，而且使译文读者能够感受到与原文读者基本相同的美的享受。

根据上述的研究讨论，论文得出结论,“三美”理论可以指导李清照词的英译，使译文读者得到与原文读者基本相同的美的享受。

1.Introduction

CiisakindofuniquepoetrystyleandappearedafterTangpoetry,itisalsoakindofChineseancientpoetry.CibeganintheLiangDynasty,formedintheTangDynasty,FiveDynastiesandTenStatesbegantoflourishandthenintheSongDynastyreacheditspeak,soitiscommonlyknownasSongCi.SongCiplaysanimportantpartinChineseclassicalliterature.AndLiQingzhao（1084-1155,shealsonamedLiYi’an）isthetalentedwomanpoetinthehistoryoftheSongDynastyliterature.What’smore,asthemostfamousfemalepoetinChinesehistory,CiPoemsthatshehandeddowntosubsequentgenerationsareatreasureinthehistoryofChineseliterature.AndherCihasdelicateemotions,freshlanguage,elegantdictionandabundantimages,thusshebecomestherepresentativepersonageofthegentleandrestrainedschool.Andherpoetrybecauseofthedistinctiveartisticstyleiscalled“Yi’anCi”.Yi’anCi,whetherinlanguage,emotionorartisticconception,hasahighaestheticvalue.Fordecades,therearenumeroushomesandabroadtranslatorshavetranslatedLiQingzhao’sCi.However,innumerouspoetrytranslationtheories,XuYuanchong’s“ThreeBeauty”theoryismostinfluential.He（1992）insiststhatapoemshouldbetranslatedintoapoem;inotherwords,thetranslatedversionshouldretaintherhymeiftheoriginalpoemisrhymed.

ThispaperbyanalyzingXuYuanchong’sEnglishtranslationofLiQingzhao’sCi

andthenreflectsXuYuanchong’s“ThreeBeauty”theory（beautyinsense,beautyinsoundandbeautyinform）ismoretargetedtotheChinesepoetrytranslation,soastoprovidethewestreaderswithsuperiortranslationversions,lettheyhavethesamebeautyenjoymentwiththeoriginalreaders.
