Ihavealwayshadaninterestinscience-basedsubjects,especiallythoserelatingtobiology.WhilstundertakingmyA-levelBiologycourse,themoduleenergyandecosystemswasofparticularinteresttome.Myinterestinthenaturalworld,andstudyofscienceencouragedmetofurthermyunderstandinginthisareabyapplyingtostudyenvironmentalbiologyatdegreelevel.Iwishtotakethiscoursetoenablemetodevelopscientificskillsthatwillprovidemewithagreaterunderstandingoftheenvironmentandfactorsthataffectit.IamalsostudyingChemistryandMathsatA-level.Thepracticalelementofmychemistrycourseinvolvesanunderstandingofproceduresandprecautionsnecessarythroughoutallscience-basedexperiments;

Ifeelthatthisunderstandingwillimprovemyabilityinpracticalelementsofthecourse.AfterstudyingA-levelmaths,Ifeelbeingabletointerpretnumericaldataatahighlevelwillalsoenablemetodevelopmyunderstandingofanynumericalinformationthatfeaturesinthecourse

Iamkeenonsportsandoutdoorpursuits.Ihaveenjoyedarangeofactivitiesfromcountrysidewalkstokayakingandabseiling.BecauseofthisIfeelIwouldparticularlyenjoythefieldworkthecourseoffers.Ihavebeenabletocombinethisinterestinsportwithaparttimejobasaleisureattendantatlocalsportcentres.AspartofthispostIwasaskedtoleadayouthsportsandactivitiesgroupwhichaimstopromotesportamongyoungpeopleinmyarea.ThisactivityhasalsoallowedmetointroduceotheryoungpeopletoactivitiesthatIhaveenjoyed.ThisrolehasalsohelpedmetodevelopskillsthatwouldhelpmewhileIamatuniversity.Thesportsgroupinvolvesarrangingindividualsessionsaswellastripsout

Iwishtostudyatuniversity,notonlyfortheknowledgethatIwillgainfromthecourse,butalsofortheexperienceofuniversitylifehastooffer.DuringmytwoyearsatcollegeIhaveparticipatedinvariousactivities.Forexample,Irepresentedthecollegeatanopenday,volunteeredasacollagecouncilrepresentativeformyformgroup,participatedinablooddonationschemeandwasalsoinvolvedintheshoeboxappeal.TheseactivitiesmeantthatIhavetobeconfident,approachableandpolite.Ifeelthesearecharacteristicsthatwillenablemetogetinvolvedwithstudentlifeatuniversity

Myambitionistoparticipateinconservationworkabroad,beforegainingexperienceinacareerbasedinthisarea.IfeeltheexperienceoutlinedaboveandtheknowledgeIwillgainfromthecoursewillenablemetoachievethisambition.
