本单元学习了不少食物的词汇，教师在呈现食物相关的词汇时，不必拘泥于教材1a部分中的出现的生词，可根据所设的情境适当增加食物词汇或其他生活中常见的食物词汇，这样做并不要求学生立即掌握，而是为帮助他们拓宽他们的视野，帮助他们在脑海中构建起与食物相关的词汇体系，激发学生的学习和记忆词汇的主动性，使其能在日常交际中更加自如地运用英语进行表达。

本单元的阅读篇教学，教师不仅要让学生抓住文章的大意和细节信息，讲解文章中一些常见又实用的词汇和短语，同时，在教学中还需要渗透中西方文化比较和跨文化理解的内容。
