Familiesandpartnerswere,byfar,thebiggestsourceofthehappinessforalmost80percentofthosesurveyed,withfriendscomingupnextat15percent.

“Despiteourcelebrity-drivenculture,fameisnotlikelyinitselftobeaprimarysourceofhappiness.Instead,realhappinessdependsonourconnectingwithpeople,especiallythroughloveandkindness,”thestudysaid.

Hugsandfoodalsomadealotofpeoplehappy,especiallyinBritainandRussia,wherealmostathirdofpeoplesaidtheyarelikelytofindcomfortinahugorseekitinfood.
