　　However,therearenumerousmeritsforlearningfromexperience，too.Firstthingsfirst,experienceisthesourceofknowledgeandunderstandingaswellasmeaning.Nowherecantheimportanceoflearningfromexperiencebedescribedsovividlyandaccuratelyasintheoldsaying-“Nothingeverbecomesrealtillitisexperienced”.Takethehumanprogressasanillustration.Datingbacktohundredsofthousandsyearsago,wehumanbeingswereutterlyignorant.Butbyincessantpractices,ourancestorscumulatedmassiveexperience,fromwhichtheyacquiredagreatamountofknowledge,transformingourworldfromaprimitivesocietyintoahighly-developedone.Second,unlikethetheoriesrecordedinbooks,experiencescanapplytopracticaluse.Whenweareatwork,whatweneedistheexperienceofpracticalapplicationinsteadoftheabstracttheoriesinourbooks.
