Unfortunately,herworksdidnotattractmuchattentioninthe1930sand1940s,eveninherhomecountry.Herfirstone-womanshowinMexicowasnothelduntil1953.Formorethanadecadeafterherdeathin1954,Kahlo’sworksremainedlargelyunnoticedbytheworld,butinthe1970sherworksbegantogaininternationalfameatlast.
