状语从句AdverbialClauses

状语从句在句中作状语，修饰主句中的动词，形容词或副词等。

状语从句放在主句之前时，常用逗号分开；放在主句之后，一般不用逗号。

状语从句按其意义和作用可分为时间，条件，原因，让步，目的，结果，方式，比较，地点等九种。

I时间状语从句的连词：

when,as,while,before,after,since,till（until）,assoonas,hardly---when,nosooner---than,themomentetc.

II.原因状语从句的连词：

because,since,as,for,seeing（that）,now（that）,considering（that）,inthat,notthat/because---butthat/becauseetc.

III.地点状语从句的连词：

where,wherever,anywhere,everywhere

IV.条件状语从句连词：

if（‘‘如果’’常用于表示正面的条件），unless（ifnot，常用于表示反面的条件）,onconditionthat,provided（that）,providing（that）,（常用于表示好的条件）,so（as）longas,suppose（that）,supposing（that）,incase,given（that）（鉴于---，在---的情况下）,grantedthat（就算）etc.

V.让步状语从句

由although/though,evenif/eventhough等引导

Forexample:

Although（Evenif）Ididn’tknowanybodyattheparty,Ihadaverygoodtime.

VI.目的状语从句的连词:

sothat+情态动词can/could,may/might,shall/should,will/would,inorderthat+情态动词can/could,may/might,shall/should,will/would；lest（万一）,forfearthat（恐怕）,incase,+虚拟语气（should）do.

VII.结果状语从句的连词：

so,sothat,so---that,such---that

VIII.方式状语从句的连词：

as,justas,asif,asthough,（in）theway（that）etc.asif和asthough一般用虚拟，但是如果从句中所陈述的情况很可能是事实，也可用陈述语气。

IX.比较状语从句的连词：

as----as,than,notso---as,themore---themore,as---soetc.
