状语从句专题

状语从句AdverbialClauses

高二教师叶莲琴

状语从句在句中作状语,修饰主句中的动词,形容词或副词等。

状语从句放在主句之前时,常用逗号分开;放在主句之后,一般不用逗号。

状语从句按其意义和作用可分为时间,条件,原因,让步,目的,结果,方式,比较,地点等九种。

I时间状语从句的连词:

when,as,while,before,after,since,till(until),assoonas,hardly---when,nosooner---than,themomentetc.

II.原因状语从句的连词:

because,since,as,for,seeing(that),now(that),considering(that),inthat,notthat/because---butthat/becauseetc.

III.地点状语从句的连词:

where,wherever,anywhere,everywhere

IV.条件状语从句连词:

if(‘‘如果’’常用于表示正面的条件),unless(ifnot,常用于表示反面的条件),onconditionthat,provided(that),providing(that),(常用于表示好的条件),so(as)longas,suppose(that),supposing(that),incase,given(that)(鉴于---,在---的情况下),grantedthat(就算)etc.

V.让步状语从句

由although/though,evenif/eventhough等引导

Forexample:

Although(Evenif)Ididn’tknowanybodyattheparty,Ihadaverygoodtime.

VI.目的状语从句的连词:

sothat+情态动词can/could,may/might,shall/should,will/would,inorderthat+情态动词can/could,may/might,shall/should,will/would;lest(万一),forfearthat(恐怕),incase,+虚拟语气(should)do.

VII.结果状语从句的连词:

so,sothat,so---that,such---that

VIII.方式状语从句的连词:

as,justas,asif,asthough,(in)theway(that)etc.asif和asthough一般用虚拟,但是如果从句中所陈述的情况很可能是事实,也可用陈述语气。

IX.比较状语从句的连词:

as----as,than,notso---as,themore---themore,as---soetc.
