Thebuyerdecidestopay,andeverybodyshappy.

Thebuyerandthesellerdecidetogethertoabandonthetransaction,thesellergetsreimbursedforthefinal-valuefeeandreliststheitemforfree,andeverybodyshappy.

Thesellerdecidesnoetodealwiththebuyer,thebuyergetsanunpaiditemstrikeagainsther,andthesellergetsreimbursedforthefinal-valuefeeandreliststheitemforfree.

Intheend,thedamagetothesellerisrelativelysmall.Anothertypeofbuyerfraudoccurswhenabuyersendsfalsepayment.Inmostcases,thisisintheformofabouncedcheck,andthesellerfindsoutaboutitbeforeshippingtheitem.BouncedchecksareascommononeBayastheyareintherestoftheworld,andmanysellerschoosenottoacceptpersonalchecksforthisreason.

Ifyoudontgetananswertoyourphonecall(orifyoursellerlivesinanothercountryanditwouldcosttoomuchmoneytocall),yournextstepistostartthedisputeprocess.Whenabuyerbelieveshehasbeendefrauded,hecanfileacomplaint,andeBaywillworktosolvetheproblem.WhenyoufileacomplaintineBays"ItemNotReceivedorSignificantlyNotasDescribed"system,eBaywillactasmiddlemanbetweenyouandyoursellertotrytosettlethedispute.lfthatfails,youcanfileaclaimtogetreimbursedforyourpurchase.
