Inspiteoftheirimportance,greatwhitesharkshadlongbeenhuntedfortheirmeatandtheirfins(鳍).Then,in1997,theU.S.governmentpassedalawthatdidn’tallowthehuntingofgreatwhites.Afterwards,thenumbersofthesesharksintheU.S.watersstartedtoincrease.
